Last week we recieved the best news ever! After the (hopefully) last time of dropping Bentley off at the hospital for a whole day they let us know his chest and abdomen all look good and no evidence of any cancer cells!!! It has been such a long road but to think in only 6 months after his amputation with 8 rounds of CCNU chemo he is now cancer free!!! The Doctor of course said its not necessarily permanent for now which is scary but I’m not even thinking it will come back. Once again he had histiocytic sarcoma which is a very aggressive cancer. I can’t thank this site enough for everyone’s support throughout our journey and we will continue to keep you updated with the good and bad. Thank you!!

A new lump
Hi everyone! I will most likely post another post in the forums for some more advice, but I have some upsetting “news”. Nothing is definite yet, but there is another lump on Bentley’s remaining back leg close to the spot of the last tumor on his amputated leg and it’s starting to look like the first tumor as well. We got a cytology done and it came back inconclusive (of course) so we have an appointment with the surgeon on Thursday to decide to remove it or just take biopsy. It’s still small, but is growing everyday. I really hope it’s not another tumor because he has been doig chemo and i wouldn’t want that to have just been a waste. He is so happy though it’s hard to believe anything is wrong with him. He has a better life than me I think- gets homemade meals, goes swimming, gets accupuncture, and lots of love from everyone he passes on the street. I got through one tumor before with the help of this wonderful tripawd community so I know I can do it again. Nothing we can do now until Thursday but at least I’ll get some peace of mind finally knowing what it is.
Happy as a Clam
Hi everyone! I realized I’m not on this site as much when things are going well and I thought for those struggling I would bring hope to. So far Bentley is doing GREAT! Yesterday was his 2 month ampuversary and I can’t be more surprised. He goes on longer walks than I’d ever expect. Runs up and down the stairs (while I hold my breath hoping he doesn’t fall). He’s even been playing with some dogs during our walks on his leash. The stroller is still very useful it’s just a pain in the butt for me to take down the stairs and put together and wheel next to hop running until he gets tired. We went on a super long walk today and he still had energy and just kept going it was amazing. I tried to get him to walk back home because I knew he’d be tired and didn’t have the stroller. None the less he pulled me to the other side of Manhatten and we took a cab home. He slept the rest of the day today. I’ve included pictures because it is just too cute! He has also successfully gone through 3 chemo treatments. His blood count has been slightly low so they keep lowering his dose but his spirits are so high. I owe so much gratitude to this site for helping us through everything thus far.
